Apple is valued at $2.2 trillion, making it richer than 96% of the world, while Microsoft's market cap puts it on par with the GDP of Canada. Amazon and Alphabet have combined market caps of £4.8 trillion ($6.25 trillion), which makes them twice as wealthy as the UK with a GDP of £2.1 trillion ($2.74 trillion). The 10 most profitable companies combined would be the third wealthiest country, with a higher GDP than Japan.
APPLE Apple is worth more than the GDP of many countries, including Bahrain, Tajikistan, Armenia, Brunei, Palestine and Nepal. Its market capitalization is larger than 96% of country GDPs, and it is only behind the US, China, Japan and Germany in terms of total market cap. Apple became the first company to reach a $3 trillion market cap in January 2022.
As of February 17, 2023, Apple has a market cap of $2.414 trillion, though it fell to $1.99 trillion on January 3, 2023 and further to $1.989 trillion on January 4, 2023.
AMAZONAs of February 17, 2023, Amazon has a market cap of $996.03 billion, though it decreased to $991.605 billion on February 17, 2023 and further to $996.04 billion on February 19, 2023.
Amazon's market cap of $1.7 trillion is larger than 92% of country GDPs, and is closest to the GDP of Saudi Arabia.
MICROSOFT
As of February 2023, Microsoft has a market cap of $1.920 trillion, making it the world's third most valuable company by market cap. It is larger than the GDP of global powerhouses such as Brazil, Canada, Russia, and South Korea. It is also more than double the GDP of countries such as Australia and Mexico.
